The job was performed at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium to prepare the site for the demolition of the structure. The work included the removal and disposal of an wide variety of hazardous materials. The work was carried out through six floors of auditorium and nine floors of an office building adjacent to the structure.
Over 400 containers of hazardous and non hazardous materials including bulbs, ballasts, batteries, electronic equipment, paints, solvents, and cleaning supplies were removed. 6,000 florescent light bulbs, 2,500 PCB containing and a number of mercury switches were also removed from their fixtures and properly disposed of. Over 60,000 gallons of glycol were drained from the air conditioning lines and tanks throughout the auditorium.
