Dulski Federal Building

2/03-3/03

This project commenced in response to an burst pipe at the Dulski Federal Building in Buffalo, NY.  The burst pipe spread asbestos containing material throughout seven floors of the building and the water caused subsequent mold issues.   Water saturated ceilings, carpets and a variety of office equipment throughout the building.

Because of the critical nature of the records kept at the facility, a crew of 60 asbestos handlers worked 24 hours per day for six weeks to remediate the effects of the burst pipe.  Crews used negative air machines, HEPA vacuum units and an Decontamination Unit.  The project was overseen by the New York State Department of Labor and the New York State Office of General Services.
