OP-TECH recognizes that the environmental industry has traditionally utilized mechanical remediation techniques that are energy and emissions intensive.  Excavation, transportation, landfill disposal, pump and treat systems are all examples of techniques  that are relatively inefficient from a resource management standpoint.

OP-TECH is an industry leader in implementing sustainable remediation technologies aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of both the project and the property. OP-TECH’s sustainable remediation platform incorporates the site specific redevelopment plans as well as the target cleanup standards for a particular site, to arrive at a remediation approach that makes sound business sense, reduces liability and is efficient from an energy use perspective. In general terms OP-TECH’s sustainable remediation goals focus on six core areas consistent with the EPA Green Cleanup Program.  They include:

Recent examples of OP-TECH’s sustainable techniques include in-situ remediation, bio-remediation, phyto-remediation, chemical oxidation, the use of biodiesel and material resuse.
